Double Espresso & Hazelnut

I’ll be honest, I was a little daunted at the size of these bars when they arrived. But to cram 600 calories into one bar, they’re not going to be fun size!! The flavour was really good and the texture not too dry and chewy like some of these bars can be. I’m not a big eater during the day and especially before running, so I tried one of these in the afternoon before an evening race. It sat well on my stomach with no GI issues and I even got my first ever podium! I see these as being a super versatile alternative to gels during an ultra when gels can get a bit boring and sickly. You could even split it into 3 pieces to eat in 200 calorie intervals! Definitely will be buying again and I’ll definitely be carrying one at Ultra Trail Snowdonia next year!

Really tasty bar, very handy size (used on a full day on the mountains) and it delivered by keeping my energy up through the day. Much healthier than sweets and no sugar crash.

Double esspresso and hazelnut is my favourite one. Absolutely hoofing during the 30 miller. Tastes great, get this one for sure.
